Well, this chapter started when Athena held a meeting at Olympus with Zeus, and told him that she wanted Odysseus to return home safely, and that she didn't like how the suitors went out to murder Telemakhos. Zeus decided that the suitors would not come across anyone, and that they would have to return home, so Telemakhos would have a safe trip. Then, he sent Hermes to tell Kalypso to let Odysseus go home to his family. He said that Odysseus would have to sail for twenty days and reach and island where they would give him gold and a boat to sail home wit. Zeus sent Hermes to tell Kalypso to let him go home. Back at the island, Kalypso gave Odysseus an axe, and lead him to a forest. She let him build his boat for four days. On the fifth day, she gave Odysseus sail cloth and stocked the ship with wine and meat for his voyage. He sailed for seventeen days, until Posiden saw him and made wirlwinds to break his boat. He swam for three more days and finally made it to land where he went up and made a bed out of leaves to sleep in.
